Question
Why isn't there a show like The Daily Show that is conservative oriented?
Answer
Conservative humor does exist. It needs to be tinged with a bit of sociopath cruelty to work, and as political correctness rises in a culture, it tends to retreat into the privacy of in-groups. To enjoy it, you need to be in a slightly vicious mood. Good conservative humor is also tinged with a certain amount of masochism. It always teeters on the edge of actual cruelty/evil, which is what makes it funny, and the masochistic element is what redeems it morally.
Conservative humor is also not really about race. It tends to be about individual/private identity versus social identity. The race thing is a side effect, and is particularly pronounced in America.
In general, the best humor rises above political ideology and manages to be equally irreverent about everything. Any holy cow dampens humor.
Personally I dislike 90% of liberal (social) identity humor. I find it deeply unfunny and find myself pitying the comedian and (if live) laughing out of sympathy rather than amusement.
I consider myself apolitical, but I do find the smug liberal presumption that they monopolize humor really funny. Like it's some sort of consolation prize for being underprivileged or something.
Humor is a human quality, not a political prize.
